The 2010 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival opened on November 4 with the local film Juliets.

The love drama produced by Ang Lee's younger brother, Khan, centers on three women all named Juliet but respectively living in the 1970s, 1980s and 2010. Hou Chi-Jan, Shen Ko-Shang, and Chen Yu-Hsun each directed a standalone short story for the film.

The film raised the curtain for a three-week-long screening session of more than 200 movies.

The Golden Horse Awards, the much-celebrated "Chinese-language Oscars," are scheduled for November 20 in Taoyuan County.

Kevin Tsai and Dee Hsu will co-host the awards ceremony.
