Everlasting Flame, the official film from the 29th Olympic Games will premiere on August 8 in Beijing, the M1905.com reports.
Behind-the-scenes stories about Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell and Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang on the track are featured. Never-before-seen footage of the ups and downs on and off the track was used for the project.
The premiere date was announced by director Gu Yun at a recent press conference. The date of August 8 was set to commemorate the opening date of the Olympics two years ago.
"We conducted worldwide research and shot the film in North and South America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. It is the first time for an official Olympic film to be shot using such a worldwide range," Gu said.
Everlasting Flame is the 22nd official Olympic Games film and the first one made by Chinese. It won the Candido Cannavò award at 27th Milan International FICTS Festival in 2009.
