Chinese mainland actress Zhou Xun was named best actress at the Asian Film Awards on Monday in Hong Kong.
Zhou was honored for her performance in The Equation of Love and Death, in which she plays a plucky cab driver who deals with obsessions following the disappearance of her lover.
The best actor award went to Masahiro Motoki from the Japanese film Departures. The film won the best foreign-language Oscar at this year's Academy Awards.
Tokyo Sonata, another film from Japan, took home the best film award.
Also adding to the Japanese-dominated winners list is Hirokazu Koreeda, who garnered the best director honor for the family drama Still Walking.
The 3rd Asian Film Awards were held as part of the ongoing Hong Kong International Film Festival.
