Every year, Tibetan children with congenital heart disease will come to Beijing to receive free medical treatment, with the first group of five already in the capital.

The surgery was a success, but the clenched fist tells of her discomfort. Yangjin was among the first batch of five Tibetan children to receive the free surgery in Beijing.

To Yangjin's mother, nothing is more precious than her daughter's recovery. Among the gifts the little patient has received from people who care about her condition, a wish list draws our attention.

"When did you write the wish list?"

"I wrote it before the surgery.

Yangjin says her wish list is actually a note of thanks, as she is grateful for all of the care she has received.

Good news also comes to Laba Ciren, in the next ward—"Your son can have surgery tomorrow."

Ciren is very happy about the operation, as this will mean he can be healthy again. Also, it increases his chances of his dream coming true—to become a soldier.

Early next morning, Ciren's father is nervous but full of hope and anticipation.

Ciren's father said, "I just phoned my family to update them on Ciren's condition. We are confident the surgery will go smoothly."

After an hour, Ciren is out of surgery. And it's good news.

Liu Huiliang, hospital director, said, "The surgery was a great success. We all feel happy for him. We are looking forward to his recovery."

Seeing the smiles on the children's faces makes it all worthwhile. The next step is lots of rest and recovery.
