The first China-Southeast Asia High-level People-to-People Dialogue (CSAHPD) will be held in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from June 3 to 4, the China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE) announced at a press conference on May 29.
The CSAHPD, launched by CNIE, will be held with the theme of "Boosting Development Through a Peace Deal and Achieving Positive Outcomes Through Cooperation."
You Jianhua, secretary-general of CNIE, said the CSAHPD is aimed at establishing a people-to-people exchange platform for China and Southeast Asian countries.
According to You, the dialogue conference consists of two sub-meetings themed respectively "Collecting the Will of People and Boosting Ties between China and Southeast Asia" and "New Measures for Pragmatic Cooperation" as well as a thematic dialogue titled "Cooperation Between Government and People—Impetus for Regional Peace and Development." Hundreds of academics, officials, entrepreneurs and representatives of nongovernmental organizations from China and 11 Southeast Asian countries will join in the conference.
You noted that both China and the Southeast Asian countries are currently in an important stage of development, adding that the dialogue conference will pool the strength and wisdom of the civilian workforce, share development experiences, discuss development models and reach consensus on development and cooperation between China and Southeast Asian countries.
To seek peace, cooperation and development is the common wish of all people in the region. The CSAHPD will provide a platform for civilian forces of the region to engage in candid and constructive dialogue, working to blaze a trail for the joint development of regional countries. |
