Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying on Thursday said that China welcomes a recent agreement between Sudan and South Sudan.
Hua said that China hopes Sudan and South Sudan will effectively implement their already signed agreements and that they can properly solve unresolved issues through talks at an early date.
Early on Tuesday, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Sudan and South Sudan formally agreed to implement a cooperation agreement signed on September 27 in the same city, agreeing to restart oil flow from South Sudan through pipelines in Sudan within two weeks.
The two countries also signed an agreement through the mediation of the African Union High Implementation Panel in Addis Ababa on March 8, for practical implementation of security measures settled upon in September last year.
