China Specifies Products, Services for Emerging Sectors
Share

Guidance that specifies the key products and services in China's seven strategic emerging industries was published by the country's top economic planner Thursday.

China's strategic industries include energy-saving and environmental protection, information technology, biology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy, new materials and new-energy vehicles.

The catalogue for guidance, published by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), covers about 3,100 goods and services in 125 sub-categories of the seven sectors. It is designed to guide the work of departments at different levels and local governments, according to a commission notice.

The NDRC said it will make timely updates to the catalogue to keep pace with new developments in the sectors.

The State Council, or China's cabinet, issued a development plan last year to promote the seven strategic emerging industries and stressed their significance for maintaining long-term and steady economic growth amid the country's economic slowdown.
