4 Chinese among Nigeria Plane Crash Victims
Share

At least four Chinese were among the 153 people on board a passenger plane which crashed near the Lagos airport in Nigeria on Sunday, the Chinese Embassy in the West African country has confirmed.

On a separate occasion, Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Harold Demuren told reporters that none of the passengers on board the aircraft survived.

He also said more than 40 people living inside a two-storey building were killed after the aircraft crashed into it.

The Dana Airair plane, which reportedly took off from Nigeria's capital city Abuja, crashed in a residential area in the Lagos metropolis, barely 24 hours after a Nigerian Allied Cargo airplane (also from Lagos) crash-landed in Ghana, killing at least 10 people.

After the tragic incident, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan declared three days of national mourning.
