Share

Chinese President Hu Jintao, who is also Chairman of the Central Military Commission, has signed a circular order honoring one military unit and three individuals, according to a Central Government statement.

A water supply regiment of the Lanzhou Military Area Command, headquartered in northwestern city of Lanzhou, was issued a Class I Merit Citation.

Class I Merit Citations were also awarded to Fan Henghai, a researcher with the Xi'an Satellite Control Center; He binbin, a deputy commanding officer of an air force troop; and Wang Xiguang, a senior auditor in the Nanjing Military Area Command.

The president also signed a decree to honor the late political theorist Yan Gaohong as a "model theorist".

A professor with the Nanjing Institute of Politics under the People's Liberation Army, Yan died of a heart attack. The Central Military Commission urged political theorists to learn from Yan's spirit.
