Premier Wen Jiabao on Tuesday pledged to establish a fair, open and transparent legal and policy environment to protect the legitimate rights of all companies in China.

Wen made the remark during a meeting with representatives of Chinese and foreign trade promotion organizations attending an economic forum in Beijing.

China will expand domestic demand and stabilize external demand, Wen said after highlighting China's economic achievements.

China will also combine its policies of increasing imports and stabilizing exports, as well as attracting foreign investment and encouraging investment abroad, he said.

Wen vowed to further open the market and push forward reforms concerning the formulation mechanism of the exchange rate for China's currency, the yuan.

The foundation for the recovery of the global economy is still very fragile and has a lot of uncertainties, Wen said, urging trade promotion organizations to joint hands to cope with challenges.

He called on the organizations to object to protectionism in various forms, promote the facilitation of trade and investment and strive for a fair and reasonable global economic order.
