China's Ministry of Railways said Friday that the network is expected to see around 31.1 million passengers during the three-day International Labor Day holiday.
The figure was 2.42 million, or 8.5 percent, higher than the traffic registered during the same period last year.
Among the passengers, over 20 percent will travel by China's high-speed trains, an increase of over 10 percent year on year, according to the ministry.
