Sudanese President Omar al- Bashir on Sunday met here with Zhong Jianhua, China's Special Representative on African Affairs, according to a statement by the Chinese Embassy in Khartoum.

Zhong arrived in the Sudanese capital Saturday for a three-day visit to the African country.

"During the meeting, the two sides exchanges viewpoints on regional and international issues of mutual concern," the statement said.

Zhong, previously serving as China's ambassador to South Africa, was appointed earlier as Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs, succeeding Ambassador Liu Guijin.
