Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Binh Minh held talks on Sunday afternoon on bilateral relations.
Yang said China-Vietnam relations scored new development, featuring close high-level contacts and steady growth of cooperation in all areas.
China was ready to work with Vietnam to implement the consensus reached by state leaders of the two countries, and enhance political mutual trust, deepen cooperation and properly handle sensitive issues, in order to promote a sustained, sound and stable development of the bilateral ties.
Minh said the Vietnamese side cherished its traditional friendship and cooperation with China. The Foreign Ministry will strengthen communication and coordination with the Chinese Foreign Ministry, and make joint efforts to implement the state leaders' consensus and to deepen cooperation in all fields.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on issues of common concern.
Invited by Yang, Minh is paying an official visit to China from February 12 to 15.
