"I am convinced that the SCO has great prospects," Zardari said
Share

Pakistan wants to be a full-fledged member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari said on Tuesday.

"I believe the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a great association. Pakistan wants to join it and hopes for support from all organization members," Zardari was quoted by the Kazakh presidential press service as telling journalists following a meeting with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"I am convinced that the SCO has great prospects," Zardari said.

Nazarbayev and Zardari discussed various aspects of regional security, further development of bilateral relations, and key issues on the international agenda.

Pakistan currently has observer status at the SCO.
