Women's Boxing to Debut in Guangzhou Asian Games
Women's boxing will make its Asian Games debut in Guangzhou
Share

Women's boxing will make its Asian Games debut in Guangzhou, China this year, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) said on its Website.

"The Asian Boxing Confederation proposed the inclusion of women's boxing in the 2010 Asian Games... in hopes of raising the level of women's boxing in Asia," said a statement on the OCA Website.

Women will compete in flyweight (48-51kg), lightweight (56-60kg) and middleweight (69-75kg), the three categories that will feature at the 2012 London Games after women's boxing was added to the Olympic programme last year.
