Overseas public recognizes China's important position in APEC.
More than half of the overseas respondents recognized China's important position in APEC. Those in Russia and Brazil gave the highest appraisals: 84% in Russia and 82% in Brazil think China is important in APEC, making great contributions to the organization. Only 31% of the Japanese respondents, the lowest among all countries, affirmed China's status and role in APEC.

More people in China's neighboring countries know about the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Beijing.
The Russians, Indians and Japanese were the most interested in the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Beijing. Among them, 69% of the Russian respondents knew about this event, while many fewer people in South Africa and the UK -- non-APEC member economies that are far from China -- had heard of it.

Most respondents considered the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Beijing successful
Of the 1,520 overseas interviewees who knew about the APEC Beijing meeting, 78% called it a success. The Russian and Indian respondents had the highest evaluation, with 96% and 90%, respectively, of them affirming the meeting.

Economic development is the most popular topic about the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.
Of the topics about the APEC Beijing meeting, "innovative development, economic reform and growth" attracts overseas people the most, with 43% of the respondents ticking it. "Comprehensive connectivity and infrastructure development" and "regional economic integration" came second and third, respectively, attracting 35% and 34% of the respondents.
