OVM Technical Seminar Successfully Held In Jakarta
Share

The OVM Technical Seminar, cohosted by the Liuzhou OVM Machinery Co. Ltd. (OVM) and the Institute of Road Engineering of Indonesia, was held in Jakarta, Indonesia recently. The seminar centered on bridge structure monitoring and bridge repairing and reinforcement. It was aimed at strengthening the awareness of bridge maintenance, providing a high-level platform for technological exchange and promoting the healthy development of the prestress market in Indonesia.

Over 100 civil engineers from China and Indonesia specializing in the areas of bridge design, construction, supervision, scientific research and management shared their experiences and research results at the seminar.

Herry Vaza, Director of the Institute of Road Engineering of Indonesia, Zheng Jin, Executive Vice President of Guangxi Liugong Group and Chairman of OVM, Gato Sukmara from the Institute of Road Engineering of Indonesia, Ir. Faimun, M.Sc. from the Surabaya Institute of Technology of Indonesia, Professor Peng Wenxuan from Central South University of China, and OVM engineers Zhu Wanxu and Deng Nianchun made speeches, providing new solutions and insights on prestress research.

Since entering the Indonesian market in 2010, OVM has won bids for projects such as the Mahkota Bridge and the Baturusa Bridge. OVM gradually established its leading position in the Indonesian bridge construction market, especially the cable-stayed bridge market. Currently, OVM has become one of the first three prestress system service providers and is very influential in the local market.

When asked about OVM's future plans in the Indonesian market, Zheng said that OVM hoped to derive a better understanding of the Indonesian market through the seminar and to improve its technological strength. In the next three to five years, OVM will try to become the biggest provider of prestress service in Indonesia by improving its market share from 25 percent to 55 or even 60 percent. OVM is willing to make greater contributions for the prosperity of Indonesia and the safety of bridges worldwide.

The success of this seminar has not only provided a technological exchange platform for the prestress industries of China and Indonesia and promoted the progress of the two countries' prestress technologies but also improved OVM's influence in the overseas market at large.
