PN Ships Arrive on Goodwill Mission to Shanghai

Pakistan Navy ships, destroyer PNS Khaibar and oil tanker PNS Nasr, were accorded a warm welcome as they arrived in Shanghai on a four-day goodwill mission on November 25.      

Navigated through the Wusong estuary by Commander Destroyer Squadron, Commodore Ali Abbas SI (M), (Mission Commander), the type-21 class Khaibar, along with Nasr, finally reached its berth.

Shanghai Naval Garrison Chief of Staff, Senior Captain Wei Xiaodong, along with officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government, received Commodore Abbas together with his commanding officers at the Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal (SPICT) jetty.

At the welcome ceremony, the Mission Commander underlined the significance of the visit, which fosters goodwill, promotes mutual understanding and enhances cooperation between the two countries.

Rear Admiral Hussaini, following a meeting with his counterpart, Rear Admiral Li Yujie, Commander of Shanghai Naval Garrison, wrote in the visitors' book that he hoped mutual visits would benefit both nations as well as international peace and stability.
