Crown Resorts announced the renewal of their sponsorship agreement with Li Na, China's biggest tennis star, in Beijing on October 7 in an announcement made by Chairman James Packer.
Crown Resorts will sponsor Li for a further two years, inviting her back to represent their properties in Melbourne, Perth, Macao, London, and from next year, Manila.
"Crown Resorts are extremely proud to continue our relationship and support of Li Na. She is a wonderful tennis player, but more importantly, she is an extremely honorable and charming person," Packer said.
"Li represents everything that Crown stands for - a commitment to excellence and to be the very best. Crown is a growing company in the resort tourism business and I can't think of a better representative than Li Na," Packer stated.
Li, who made the Australian Open finals in 2011 and 2013 respectively, stayed at Crown Melbourne during the Australian Open championship.
"I am very happy to renew my relationship with Crown Resorts. Crown is a respected global luxury brand and its hotels and employees are second to none," Li said.
"I look forward to traveling to Melbourne again for the Australian Open and staying at the Crown Towers Hotel in January," she noted.
Li's sponsorship also promotes tennis in Australia and China through Crown Resorts' support of Tennis Australia's Asia-Pacific Wildcard Play-off and the Chinese Ball-kid Exchange Program. Tennis Australia is working closely with the China Tennis Association to promote tennis in the Asia Pacific and congratulated Li after the announcement in Beijing.
"Li Na is the perfect ambassador for ignite passion in the sport, especially in China," Packer said. |
