Expand to Europe
An alliance of influential private Chinese businesses has selected Denmark as one of the top three countries in Europe for their expansion

A press event was held at the Danish Embassy in China on January 5, announcing that a group of top Chinese investors, who are members of the Aigo Entrepreneur Alliance (AEA) of China, has picked Denmark as one of three European countries to expand their European operations.

"This is a win-win model. It is a highly efficient way for Chinese private enterprises to unite in a bid to achieve the goal of going global. We will employ local workers and then help increase local employment and the tax revenue of the local foreign governments," said Feng Jun, President of Aigo Digital Technology Co. Ltd. and founder of the Aigo Entrepreneurs Alliance.

The decision to open a joint headquarters in Denmark follows a working visit to European countries in December 2011 by some 25 AEA members. Besides Denmark, the investors also visited the Netherlands, Britain, and Belgium.

Feng said, Denmark's strong focus on design and innovation enables Chinese brands to learn from and collaborate with Danish companies in order to become successful in the rest of Europe. It also provides good opportunities for partnerships with universities and design institutions in order to further develop our brands.

Initiated by Feng together with around 10 entrepreneurs, AEA was founded in March of 2011. The purpose of the AEA is to develop the internationalization of Chinese brands and to promote privately owned Chinese brands globally.

AEA's move is warmly welcomed by Denmark, which regards China as a vital partner in trade and foreign affairs.

Friis Arne Petersen, Danish Ambassador to China, hopes more and more Chinese enterprises will invest in Denmark. The ambassador said Denmark will take the presidency of the EU this year.
