He raised the following initiatives on developing the bilateral relations: continuing to strengthen political ties, deepening the mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, reinforcing coordination and collaboration in international affairs, promoting sharing of experience in the social sectors and diversifying humanistic dialogue and exchanges. Drawing a new blueprint for the future of China-Latin America relations, the speech was highly valued and warmly welcomed by the Latin American side.

During President Hu's visit to Greece, the two sides made positive remarks on their traditional friendship and all-round strategic partnership. They agreed to make concerted efforts to push forward the bilateral relations and bring greater benefit to their people. The Greek side expressed willingness of playing a constructive role of promoting China-EU strategic partnership. The two nations reached consensus on setting the pragmatic cooperation in the trade, economic and humanistic areas as the pillar of the bilateral ties and carrying out mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of communication, energy, environmental protection, tourism and island development; pushing forward marine transport cooperation, exploring the establishment of a three-dimensional system integrating air transport, port and logistics functions and extending the cooperation to the areas of infrastructure construction and renovation, investment, finance and port affairs; improving humanistic exchanges and strengthening cooperation in such fields as language teaching, cultural relics protection, press and media and publishing.

During the visit, President Hu also held bilateral meetings and talks with U.S President George W. When meeting with Bush, Hu reviewed the development of China-U.S. relations over the past more than seven years and expounded China's position on the bilateral political and economic ties as well as international and regional issues. Bush thanked Hu for attending the Washington financial summit and his important role at the meeting and expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for its major contributions to pushing forward the six-party talks. The U.S. president noted the relations between his country and China are most critical and he would continue to play his part to promote such relations after leaving his post. During Hu's talks with Medvedev, both leaders spoke highly of China-Russia strategic partnership and exchanged in-depth opinions and reached key consensus on deepening the bilateral pragmatic cooperation in Asia-Pacific. Hu and Aso pledged to keep the sound momentum of China-Japan relations and push forward their strategic and reciprocal partnership.
