A leading Chinese think tank published recently the Chinese edition of Fidel Castro's autobiography.

The Castro autobiography, based on the 100-hour interviews of Castro and Ignacio Ramonet, a spanish journalist and writer who is editor-in-chief of Le Monde Diplomatique, goes with a new preface written by Castro particularly for Chinese readers.

The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Institute of Latin American Studies translated and compile the autobiography from its original Spanish edition.

As in the Spanish, English and French editions published previously, the Chinese edition has its major content on Castro's historical records, his revolutionary career, the Cuban missile crisis, the geopolitics in Latin America, Cuba's foreign relations with major powers such as the United States and the Soviet Union as well as China, and a today's Cuba.

Suffering from health problems, Castro in last month handed over his reign over Cuba to his long-time comrade and younger brother Raul Castro.
