A high-profile event organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC), the annual Hong Kong Book Fair enters its 19th edition this year at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from July 23 to 29.

Since its inception in 1990, the Book Fair has been committed to instill a strong reading culture. In 2007, for instance, a total of 475 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions displayed their books and publications at the fair covering subjects such as literature, children's literature, history, technology, business, travel and religion. The fair achieved a record-breaking attendance of 763,545 visitors, a 10% increase from the previous year.
