(REN LONG)

Kong Jie, a player of the game of Go, won the top title at the 23rd Asian TV Cup. This is his third consecutive championship in this tournament, only one step from the record—Japanese Go player Takemiya Masaki's four consecutive wins.

Kong, 29, started to learn Go at six and entered the national youth team in 1994. In 2000, he became famous in the field when he reached the semi-final in the Chunlan Cup World Professional Go Tournament. In 2009, he won his first world championship—the 14th Samsung Cup World Go Masters.
