(ZHANG GUOJUN)

A police officer teaches workers at entertainment venues on how to recognize ecstasy and other drugs in Changle, Fujian Province, on June 25.

The Ministry of Public Security said that the country's number of registered drug users had reached 2.14 million by the end of March.

About 83.6 percent of those drug users are male. Over half of the country's registered drug users are aged 19 to 35, 44.3 percent are 36 to 59, 0.7 percent are under 18 and 0.6 percent are over 60.

In a bid to help recovering users live drug-free, the country registers them to arrange regular police visits.
