Chinese Top Political Advisory Body Elects New Leadership

The 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the top political advisory body, on Thursday elected its leadership at a plenary meeting.

Jia Qinglin was reelected chairman of CPPCC National Committee. The 25 vice-chairpersons are: Wang Gang, Liao Hui, Du Qinglin, Ngapoi Ngawang Jigme (Tibetan), Pagbalha Geleg Namgyae (Tibetan), Ma Man Kei, Bai Lichen (Hui), Chen Kuiyuan, Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit (Uygur), Li Zhaozhuo (Zhuang), Huang Mengfu, Tung Chee-hwa, Zhang Meiying (female), Zhang Rongming (female), Qian Yunlu, Sun Jiazheng, Li Jinhua, Zheng Wantong, Deng Pufang, Wan Gang, Lin Wenyi (female), Li Wuwei, Luo Fuhe, Chen Zongxing and Wang Zhizhen(female).

Qian Yunlu, a vice-chairman, also acts as secretary-general of the 11th CPPCC National Committee.

The meeting also elected 298 members of the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee.
