Wang Shun, 22, claims the bronze medal in the men's 200-meter individual medley. “It was magical to compete against the swimmers [Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte] I admire,” said an excited Wang. “I’m really satisfied with the result.” This is Wang’s first Olympic medal (SINA.COM)  

 

Ma Long and Zhang Jike, both 28, claim the gold and the silver medals in the men's table tennis singles, respectively. Ma seals the Grand Slam, having won the World Cup on two occasions and the 2015 World Championships. “Ma was extraordinary in the final,” a disappointed Zhang said on his Weibo account, China’s popular Twitter-like micro-blogging (SINA.COM)

 

Shi Jinglin wins the bronze medal in the women's 200m breaststroke final. This is her first time competing in the Olympics. “It seems that I have much potential in endurance events,” said 23-year-old Shi after the final. “I’m surprised but happy to win the medal.” (SINA.COM)
