Pakistan's Minister for Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik, on September 20 called upon the Chinese companies, particularly those from Shanxi Province, to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan's energy and petroleum sectors.

Speaking at the China (Shanxi)-Pakistan Conference for Economic and Trade Cooperation, held alongside the 8th Silk Road International Expo in Xi'an, Shanxi Province, Dr. Malik expressed gratitude to the Shanxi Government for supporting the establishment of the Pakistan Pavilion at the event.

According to an official statement issued here, he highlighted that Pakistan's participation in the expo was a direct outcome of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's earlier visit to Xi'an this year.

He emphasized that leading Pakistani companies involved in upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of petroleum and coal are eager to collaborate with Shanxi-based firms through investments, joint ventures, and technology transfers.

The Minister stressed the importance of enhancing provincial-level cooperation, particularly in fostering business-to-business partnerships across various sectors, including mining, petroleum, energy, and technology.

He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to fostering shared growth, sustainable development, and a lasting friendship with China, grounded in mutually beneficial cooperation.
