Li Ming-chiang, 23-year-old Chinese pianist, won fourth prize at the Sixth International Chopin Competition which ended in Warsaw on March 11. Two other young Chinese pianists who took part in the contest also drew high praise.
The audiences especially appreciated Li Ming-chiang's performance of Chopin's Sonata Op. 35 and Prelude Op. 28 for having successfully absorbed the style and profound feeling of the composer. Now the three Chinese musicians are setting off on a joint two-week tour of recitals in major Polish cities, arranged by the Poland-China Friendship Association. |
