The death toll in the flooded Wangjialing mine in north China's Shanxi Province has risen to 35. Rescuers are still searching for the 3 miners still missing.
The 115 workers rescued Monday last week have been taken to 5 hospitals in Hejin and Taiyuan cities and are still in intensive care. They are all out of life-threatening danger and in stable condition.Psychological treatment will be provided to them.
Meanwhile, rescuers are pumping out water from the work area where the remaining 3 miners are believed to be trapped and are preparing for search efforts. Officials say emergency workers have drained away nearly 300,000 cubic meters of water from the mine.
