Netherlands to Receive 74 More Bodies of MH17 Victims
Share

Another two planes with a total of 74 bodies of victims of the MH17 crash will reach Eindhoven Airport on Friday, the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice stated.

The planes carrying the bodies are expected to land at 16:00 local time (1400 GMT) followed by a somber ceremony, a minute of silence and transportation of the coffins in a convoy from Eindhoven to Hilversum.

One of the planes on Friday will be accompanied by Dutch Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans and his Australian counterpart Julie Bishop, who have been visiting Ukraine for the past two days.

So far, 40 bodies arrived in Holland on Wednesday with another 74 following on Thursday. Bodies of more victims are scheduled to arrive in the Netherlands on Saturday.

In total, 298 people were killed when the Boeing 777 traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in eastern Ukraine.

"A total of 203 body bags have been counted now," Rutte said Thursday. "However, more forensic investigation is needed. There is still a chance of finding bodies at the disaster area," he added.
