Hu: Sino-U.S. Ties Reach Unprecedented Breadth and Depth

Chinese President Hu Jintao said Sino-U.S. ties have reached unprecedented breadth and depth. He made the comments during a speech at a welcoming luncheon hosted by friendly organizations in the U.S.

Hu said that advancing such ties, serves the fundamental interests of people from both countries, and they should step up cooperation to build a better future for mankind.

The president also said China will abide by a defensive military policy and will not take part in any arms race.
