Financial Relief
May 22, 2 p.m.-China had appropriated 13.975 billion yuan ($2 billion) in relief funds for quake-ravaged areas, including 10.295 billion yuan ($1.47 billion) from the central government budget and 3.68 billion yuan ($525.71 million) from local government budgets.
Medical Relief
-- May 22, 12 a.m.-68,608 people injured by the earthquake had been hospitalized, 3,444 injured in the quake had died in hospitals, 28,497 people had recovered and been discharged, while 33,665 were still being treated, and 3,002 patients had been transferred outside of Sichuan for further treatment.
