The Seventh Plenum of the 15th CPC Central Committee
The 15th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) held its Seventh Plenary Session November 3-5 in Beijing.
A Plenum communique announced that the 16th CPC National Congress would be convened from November 8 in Beijing.
General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Jiang Zemin, delivered an important speech at the plenum.
The plenum discussed and approved a report of the 15th CPC Central Committee and an amendment to the Constitution of the CPC, which would be submitted to the 16th CPC National Congress for discussion.
The plenum also examined and approved a report by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on the case of Wang Xuebing, former governor of the China Construction Bank, and decided to strip Wang of his alternate membership in the CPC Central Committee and expel him from the CPC.
