Chinese Boxer Takes First Women's Boxing Gold

Chinese boxer Ren Cancan claimed the first women's boxing gold medal from the 51kg event at the 16th Asian Games on Thursday.

World champion Ren beat Albania Annie of the Philippines 7-5 in the final.

Hmangte Chungneijang Mary Kom of India and Shinmoto Aya of Japan settled for the bronze.

The 16th Asian Games sees the women's fights for the first time after the competition was included into the London Olympic Games in last August.
