Chinese piano virtuoso Lang Lang, who performed a duet with Chinese movie star Zhang Ziyi at the Asian Games in Guangzhou, gave a concert in the city on Sunday. The show was organized as part of the city's efforts to promote the Asian Games among the public.

Chinese piano prodigy Lang Lang, who's just finished his performance at the biggest sports event in China since the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He collaborated with the Guanzhou Symphony Orchestra in presenting two piano concertos at the Guangzhou Asian Music Festival over the weekend.

The two tunes made a stark contrast to each other. One was a traditional Chinese folk number, while the other elaborately chosen work was a jazz piece accentuating free style and improvisation.

The Xinghai Concert Hall, with a capacity of 15-hundred seats, was packed full with music lovers who were captivated by Lang's combination of classical musicianship and pop-culture showmanship.

Lang's global profile has risen rapidly in recent years as he played sold-out recitals around the world and his album sales ranked him as a best-selling classical musician.

Lang Lang also played at the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
