Under the warmest solicitude from the Party Central Committee and the State Council, under the great support from the relevant ministries of the state, provinces and cities, and in joint efforts from the exhibition delegations and groups, enterprises, businessmen and the working staff, the six-day CHTF 2007 has now successfully completed each agenda and realized all predetermined objectives and is going to be closed. Taking this opportunity, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of CHTF 2007, Shenzhen Municipal Party Commission and Shenzhen Municipal Government, I would like to extend our sincere thanks and lofty respects to the leaders of various levels who have showed their constant concern and given their constant support for the CHTF, the domestic and foreign experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, investors and friends of various fields as well as news media and correspondents present for this CHTF !

Encountered with the start of the 17th NCCPC, the CHTF 2007 is a distinguished fair with great significance and highlighted themes. The 17th NCCPC is an important conference held in the crucial stage of reform and development of our country and is most important to invigoration and mobilization of the whole party and the people of all nationalities of our country to constantly liberate the ideas, adhere to the reform and opening-up, drive the scientific development, promote the social harmony, win the victory of all-round building of a well-off society and create a new situation of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Held concurrently with the 17th NCCPC, the CHTF 2007 has special political, economic and historical importance. In combination with the spirits of the 17th NCCPC, the CHTF 2007 has emphatically highlighted such three themes as "promotion of open innovation", "protection of intellectual property right" and "building of a harmonious society" and presented the distinct features of "opening-up, innovation and harmony". It has emphatically exhibited the new projects with autonomous intellectual property rights in such fields as clean energies, renewable energies, environment, information, modern biotechnologies and medicines etc., strengthened the protection force for intellectual property rights with streamlined services and effectively geared up the building of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society.

Typically featuring "big get-together and big reunion", it is a large-scale CHTF of cooperative win-win. All together, 102 delegations, 3527 exhibitors, 16067 projects and 3487 investors from 26 countries and regions have come here for exhibition, transaction and negotiation. Up to 72 transnational companies have participated in this fair, the exhibition area for overseas enterprises has reached 13700m2, the percentage of exhibition area for special products from overseas enterprises has exceeded 40%, and the number of exhibited projects, investors, transnational enterprises and the exhibition area for overseas enterprises has created new records in the history of CHTF. Twenty countries and authorities such as the US, Russia, France and Germany etc. have sent their groups for the fair, so did all inland provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities under direct jurisdiction of Central Government, cities of independent budgetary status as well as such regions as Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan. The fair has realized "a family portrait" for four years in succession. The exchange conference of talents and intelligence has attracted more than 500 enterprises and 200 of them have been finally selected for the fair. The number of people entering this fair has reached 25,000 visits, the total amount of visitors for this CHTF has reached 580,000 visits and the index of professional customers has reached 157.7. In average each exhibitor has received 157.7 professional customers. 260 domestic and foreign news media and nearly a thousand correspondents reported the grand occasion of this fair.

With colorful and splendid high-level activities, it is a CHTF with far-reaching importance and groups of important people. Seventeen minister-level officials from 8 countries such as Russia, Tanzania, Jordan and Vietnam etc. joined such activities as toast from the minister and the minister forum etc. High-level executives from seven world-famous enterprises such as Oracle, Ericsson and Hitachi Global etc. have attended "Global CEO Forum", which has sufficiently embodied the frontier dynamic of science and technology and the up-to-date scientific ideas in the world. The contents of super-SUPER activities are richer and seven world-famous stock exchange firms such as NYSE-Euronext, Germany and Tokyo etc. have participated in the "serial activities for overseas listed companies", which has geared up the marriage between high- and new-tech industries of China and the foreign capital. The high-level personnel from the Chinese and foreign governments, colleges and universities, transnational companies and the relevant authorities have had 30 negotiation activities in pairs, which have promoted the international economic and scientific exchange and cooperation Each scientific and technological industry has taken use of the international platform of this CHTF and carried out high-level activities in various modes. The ground digital TV of national standard broadcasted in a test mode for the first time and the mobile phone test center was unveiled, "Yanhuang NO.1" was published; the industrial base for compound semiconductors of Century Epitech was put into production and the brand of the national high-tech industry demonstration project was formally awarded. A large number of important activities such as the forum for peaceful utilization of military industrial technologies, forum for academicians, forum for development of biological industry, exhibition and forum for SPICE projects as well as the global semi-conductor conference organized by the domestic and foreign governments, industries and enterprises, international display conference, conference for introduction of patent application in Europe and Sino-Russian innovative technology cooperation conference, have been held during the fair. All these contributed to the splendor of this CHTF.

With new modes and new contents, this CHTF is a fair of constant innovation and overriding. The CHTF 2007 has put forward, for the first time, the "1+3 serial activities" aiming at encouraging the import of high- and new-tech products. Nine states of the US have taken part in the exhibition in "special zone for the US" and nearly 20 transnational companies have participated in the exhibition. The government officials from the US, the UK, Spain, Italy and China etc. have attended the activities such as "promotion and introduction conference for purchase policies of domestic and foreign products", which has played an important role in balancing the foreign trade and import of high and new technologies and products. The exhibition zone of "Shenzhen-Hongkong Innovation Circle" jointly hosted by Shenzhen and Hongkong governments has displayed, in a concentrated mode, the cooperative achievements and prospects of Shenzhen-Hongkong Innovation Circle. Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense has sent delegations for the exhibition for the first time and exhibited in a concentrated way the civil advanced technologies in our national science and technology field so that the industries involved in this fair are wider and the products are more abundant. In this May, the international exhibition fair for consumable electronic products, a session for specialized products of CHTF, has been successfully held for the first time, which has made active research on the new development idea of "1+n" which takes the comprehensive CHTF in October as the main and other market-oriented specialized sessions in other time periods as the auxiliary.

During this round of CHTF, the domestic and foreign customers and businessmen have got together, deepened their mutual understanding, enhanced their friendship, promoted the exchange and cooperation and had beautiful memories of Shenzhen. After closing the CHTF, the year-round trade fair, another realization mode of CHTF, shall continue providing the first-class trade platform and high-quality services for the exhibitors and investors in various mode such as online exhibition fair or by holding the negotiation conference for matched domestic and foreign projects and sessions for professional products.

All leaders, guests and friends, the CHTF 2008 shall be held in autumn of next year. Facing the new situation and new task, we shall adhere to "pace with the times and constantly push forward an internationalized, elaborated, specialized and market-oriented" fair and further build the CHTF into the first-class fair for Chinese scientific and technological achievements and the first-class grand fair for scientific achievements in the world.
