He is an exemplar in the animal husbandry production of Nagqu County and the head of Chammar mutual-aid group. However, he never forgets the hardships of the old society. He was an orphan and began to herd animals at sunset and slept in the pens for the livestock at night from the age of eight. He did various kinds of unpaid corvee and suffered often from hunger, cold and bullying. Only with the implementation of democratic reform in Tibet did he gain liberation.
