'Ancient Knights'

This is the "Rachonwa" team. During the period of the Grand Summons Ceremony, the manorial lords in different places sent the serf called "Rachonwa" to act as one of the ancient knights temporarily. They wore the ancient campaign gowns and held spears and daggers in their hands.

During the period of the Grand Summons Ceremony (called "Monnam Chinpo" in Tibetan), a group of serfs dressed in ancient campaign gowns patrolled around the Jokhang Monastery to show their loyalty to defend the religion. They imitated the Mongolian cavalry of the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368). In the mid-17th century, the leaders of the Gelug Sect invited the Mongolian Gushri Khan in Qinghai to Tibet to help overthrow the Garma Dynasty. In order to support the Gelug Sect, Gushri Khan sent officials and soldiers to guarantee the security of the monks and the convening of the Grand Summons Ceremony (1957)
