Water Level Alert
Water surrounds a sounding pole in the Dongting Lake in central China's Hunan Province on May 27, 2012. Affected by the recent heavy rains, the water level in the lake reached 29.44 meters on May 27. The warning level is 32.5 meters. Local flood-control departments are strengthening inspections of the dike and strictly monitoring changes in the water level (XINHUA)
