Free Education
Sophomores read aloud in Tibetan at No. 1 Minzu Senior High School in the Tianjun Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous County in west China's Qinghai Province on April 27. The county invested a total of 77 million yuan ($12.3 million) in kindergartens and primary and secondary education over the past few years. From this spring, K-12 students in the county will receive free tuition, text books, and accommodation expenditures. During the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), the county is slated to set up a 15-year free education system including three years of preschool, free school lunch and healthcare (XINHUA)
