Photovoltaic panels absorb sunlight at the Ruijing Solar Photovoltaic Power Station in central China's Jiangxi Province on April 24, 2012. The power station generates 3.33 million kilowatts per hour annually, reducing emissions by approximately 3,000 tons of carbon and 1,000 tons of smog and dust each year. Solar-powered street lamps, water heaters and generators can be found in the streets, lanes and fields in the city of Xinyu in Jiangxi. More than 70 new energy enterprises were set up in the city within only the past seven years (XINHUA) |
