Advanced Drilling Platform
The semi-submersible drilling platform GM4000 undocks at the COSCO Nantong Shipyard in east China's Jiangsu Province on March 25, 2012. The 2.3-ton drilling platform, built for Norway's Maracc company, is equipped with a positioning system able to function at depths of 3,000 meters. The drill can reach as deep as 11,000 meters under water, and the deck's variable load capacity is 4,000 tons (XINHUA)
