| Better Lunch | | Pupils line up to receive a nutritious lunch at Neixue Primary School in Mashan County in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on February 23, 2012. Previously, most primary schools had no cafeterias in Mashan, a county now subject to a state relief program to alleviate poverty. The county has collected funds since May 2011 and set up 117 cafeterias for schools. Each pupil can enjoy 3 yuan ($0.48) of subsidy from the Central Government and 1 yuan ($0.16) from the China Social Welfare Foundation each school day (XINHUA) |
