Major Role
A conductor operates a G1 high-speed train on the Beijing-Shanghai railway line on January 12, 2012. Since January 8, high-speed railway traffic between Beijing and Shanghai has increased from 66 pairs of trains to 92 pairs per day to accommodate 180,000 passengers daily, compared to a mere 120,000 passengers during non-festival seasons. Railway transport has played one of the major roles in meeting the need of passenger transportation (XINHUA)
