On the Track
Construction workers take a look at the recently completed Shanghai section of the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway on November 10. The 1,318-km express railway from Beijing South Railway Station to Shanghai's Hongqiao Railway Station is expected to become the primary rail artery between the capital city and Shanghai, with trains travelling at speeds of 350 km per hour. A trip between the two cities will take only about five hours, less than half of the current time of 10 to 12 hours. The line is set to open next year (XINHUA)
