Art Gala | The Sichuan opera at the Intangible Cultural Heritage Park attracts thousands of visitors in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, on June 1. The Second International Festival of the Intangible Cultural Heritage kicked off in Chengdu on Monday. More than 600 performances and 300 activities will be staged during the 13-day festival. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, the Sichuan Provincial Government and UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), it is the first international cultural festival in China held by UNESCO and the first large-scale cultural activity in Sichuan since the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12 last year (XINHUA) |
