| Art for the Art Sake | | The photo taken on October 16, 2008 shows the performance at the opening ceremony of the Theater of the Nations Festival in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province. The 31st session of the world-famous drama festival will be held in Nanjing, from October 16 to 26. The festival was initiated in 1957 by the International Theater Institute (ITI), a sub-organization of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). China joined the ITI in 1981 and became an executive committee member last month. (Xinhua) |
