Fire in Xinjiang Under Control
Smoke is seen as the fire fighters tried to extinguish the fire at the 12-story Dehui International Plaza in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, January 3, 2007. A strong fire and heavy smoke engulfed the 12-storey wholesale market building at 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday. It has been under control by 1 p.m. on Thursday. The raging building fire killed two fire fighters and left another missing. (Xinhua)
