Beijing-Tianjin High-speed Railway Begin to Lay Tracks
Workers lay tracks of China's first high-speed railway in Tianjing Municipality, November 13, 2007. The 115-km Beijing-Tianjin route began to lay tracks on Tuesday, on which the first Chinese designed and manufactured high-speed train with 600 passengers on board is expected to put into operation before the Beijing Olympic Games in August 2008. It will cut the journey time from the current 80 minutes to around 30 minutes. (Xinhua)
